As equal partners in Jerry Silverman, Inc., Silverman handled the business end, and Rodgers designed the clothing. The company’s fashions were featured in the best women’s shops and department stores in the country. In 1981, the men donated more than $5 million in costumes, antique furnishings, and art to establish the Kent State University Museum. In 1983, KUS founded the school of fashion design and merchandising, named in their honor. Jerry Silverman died in 1985. Shannon Rodgers, a professor and curator of the school’s fashion museum, passed away in 1996.
