Each kit comes with a few flat sheets of metal pieces that can be pressed out and assembled by following the simple instructions, resulting in a wonderful little steel model. Note that the individual pieces can be very small, making them somewhat tricky to assemble and would require a steady hand and the use of tools such as flat nose pliers. While these could be suitable for older children with some help, they are more geared towards adult model builders.The Space Shuttle Discovery was one of the first fully functional space orbiters to be built. Since it’s first launch in 1984, it launched and landed 39 times, which is the most any spacecraft has accomplished, even up to modern day.This lovely little model kit of one of the most iconic spacecraft outside of sci-fi is a great gift for adults. The finished model is very small (4.5 x 2.8 x 2.3 inches), so it definitely isn’t for beginners, but will make a great addition to any collection.
