Famille Rose is a Western classification for Chinese Qing dynasty porcelain known in various terms: fencai, ruancai, yangcai, and falangcai. The color palette is thought to have been introduced in China during the reign of Kangxi (1654–1722) and perfected in the following Yongzheng era. Apart from pink, many other soft colors are also used in famille Rose. The gradation of colors was produced by mixing colored enamels with opaque white enamel.
